Canvas Scholarships

        We’re ready, willing, and able to support the future generations of our communities. Our Canvas Scholarship programs are an investment in our future, as well as yours. With a solid education we can all Afford Life and Go Live.
        All Canvas Scholarships are provided through our Canvas Foundation.

        Canvas Community Scholarship

        We’re in your neighborhood, ready and willing to help students achieve their goals. We enable each of our branches to support students in their neighborhood with our Canvas Community Scholarship program.

        Our Community Scholarship program awards twenty-nine students each year from high schools in each of our Canvas Branch communities.

        School representatives nominate students based on the eligibility requirements, which include a 3.2 GPA or higher. We also provide a $5,000 Community Leadership award to a deserving student that has supported their community.

        Scholarship recipients are selected in May and honored at our Canvas Scholarship Banquet in June.

        Canvas Community Scholarship Awards:

        • $1,000 Community Scholarship award to 29 high school students, one in each Canvas Branch Community
        • $5,000 Community Leadership award to one Community Scholarship recipient

        Canvas Community Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

        • High School Students within a Canvas branch community
        • Grade Point Average of 3.2 or higher

        How to Apply:

        • Nominations are filed at participating high schools
        • March 31, 2020, 5 p.m.: Nomination Due
        • May: Scholarships Announced
        • June: Canvas Scholarship Banquet

        Canvas Foundation Scholarship

        We’re committed to you. Our Canvas Foundation Scholarship program creates long-term relationships with students who we hope will become future leaders in Colorado.

        The Dedicate to Graduate scholarship is now the Canvas Foundation scholarship.

        Each year, two deserving students are awarded a total of $10,000 through our Canvas Foundation Scholarship program.

        These scholarships provide students who have demonstrated character, leadership, and ethical values the opportunity to continue their education beyond high school.

        Scholarship recipients are selected in May and honored at our Canvas scholarship Banquet in June.

        Canvas Foundation Scholarship Awards:

        • $5,000 Canvas Foundation Scholarship award to two (2) students entering into or already studying at an accredited 2- or 4-year institution.

        Canvas Community Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

        • Open to high school seniors or students enrolled at an accredited 2- or 4-year school.
        • A minimum 3.2 GPA
        • A member of Canvas Credit Union for at least six months.

        First Class Scholarship

        We’re helping students go to college that are the first generation in their family to pursue a higher education.

        We’ve been a part of The Fort Collins Coloradoan First Class Scholarship since it began more than four years ago.

        We help hard-working and deserving first-generation high school students (those who are the first in their family to pursue higher education) in Northern Colorado pursue a college education.

        Starting in 2020, the Canvas Foundation will award each of the 12 First Class winners a $2,000 scholarship to help

        First Class Scholarship Awards:

        • Scholarships provide up to three years of financial support to local first generation students entering college
        • There’s also a pre-college mentorship program designed to support new students on their educational journey

        First Class Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

        • High school juniors from Poudre, Thompson and Weld RE-4 school districts (including charter schools that are part of those districts).
        • First generation scholars, or those that are the first in their family to pursue higher education
